LA CRESCENT, Minn. (WKOW) -- The La Crescent animal shelter has a number of animals looking for homes, but workers there are making a special plea for one of them.
Among dozens of cats at the animal shelter, there is one that stands out. This cat's name is Tripod and he has three good legs and part of a fourth.
Tripod can walk, but during these last couple of months his partial leg has caused a lot of pain. The muscle holding the partial leg up is causing the pain for Tripod. The staff gives him pain medication daily.
Tripod will undergo surgery to remove the remaining part of the damaged leg. The vet clinic explained that once the partial leg is removed the pain will be gone.
After surgery, the cat will be place in a foster home to recover.
