MIDDLETON (AP) -- Gubernatorial candidate Tom Barrett says the Republicans running against him for governor are full of empty rhetoric and haven't said enough about how they will solve the state's budget problem.
Barrett spoke Saturday in Middleton at the Wisconsin Democratic Party convention. He is the only major Democratic candidate running for governor. The main Republicans running are former congressman Mark Neumann and Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker.
Barrett says his campaign is more substantive than either of the Republicans. Barrett has released detailed plans about how he would create jobs and partially address a projected $2 billion budget shortfall.
Walker and Neumann say they will release their plans later. Republicans say Barrett's plans are not realistic.
