WASHINGTON, DC (WKOW) -- The Town of Spring Green received a $2.1 million grant to aid in flooding relief.
Rep. Ron Kind (D-WI) announced the Economic Development Administration (EDA) grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce Wednesday. It's for construction and recovery efforts related to those 2008 Midwest floods.
The villages of Spring Green and Lone Rock saw flash flooding in 2008. That's believed to have caused $9.1 million in total agricultural losses, $7 million in residential losses, and $2.7 million in business losses.
The funding will go toward an economic recovery strategy, as well as construction for a drainage ditch. 300 jobs could be created from the projects.
