CLYDE TOWNSHIP, MI (WKOW) -- Strong winds blew through the Fort Trodd Family Campground in Clyde Township on Sunday, leaving debris scattered across the site and one person dead. Authorities say the storm also injured four other people at the campground.
The grounds, about 65 miles north of Detroit, has 80 to 100 campsites, and several trailers there were blown onto the roofs and sides. All campers have been accounted for.
The National Weather Service issued multiple tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings across southern Wisconsin yesterday and confirmed at least one tornado in southwest Wayne County, southwest of Detroit.
The weather service said it would survey damage at the campsite to determine if a tornado caused the damage there.
