One of the growing camps in the Madison area is former Badger basketball player Devin Harris's summer basketball camp.
Harris already has a huge camp in Milwaukee, but he hopes to grow one in Madison as well.
This is the second year of his camp in Madison. It was held at Edgewood College, and kids really loved the experience.
"He's an inspiration to me," 12-year old Ari Davis said.
The kids learned from Harris. They asked him questions about life in the NBA, including if he'd like to play with free agents Lebron James or Dwyane Wade. His response was greeted well by the kids. "The way we played last year I'd much rather have most of you out there," he said to the crowd.
Harris also played knockout with the kids, and those lucky enough to win got a pair of autographed sneakers by the NBA star.
"I never expected to beat him. But it was awesome. I'll never wear these shoes, that's how special they are to me," Ari Davis said after he won one of the games of knockout.
Harris also gave out a bunch of other prizes and autographed memorabilia to the kids, and they had a great time learning the game of basketball from a local basketball hero.
