MADISON (WKOW) -- Willy Street Co-op is asking you to sign up for its Eat Local Challenge, set to begin August 15. The Co-op is challenging you to eat a diet of local foods for an entire month, for your physical health and the economic health of local farmers. Willy Street Co-op defines local as within 150 miles of the State Capitol building.
Around 450 people have signed up, so far, and those who decide to take the challenge will receive items that can help them, like coupons, recipes and a food diary.
You can sign up at the Co-op or on its web site, www.willystreet.coop, where you can also learn about the six levels of locavore and choose which of the five challenges you would like to take.
