NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- President Barack Obama says the battle against one of the world's worst oil spills is "finally close to coming to an end."
BP officials say they plan to begin forcing cement down the blown-out Gulf oil well tomorrow.
The announcement came shortly after their plan was approved by the federal official in charge of the oil spill, Thad Allen.
Earlier Wednesday, crews were able to force down the oil with mud, effectively plugging the leak.
