WASHINGTON (WKOW) -- The last American combat brigade is out of Iraq.
A U.S. military spokesman said the last vehicle crossed over the border into Kuwait on Wednesday.
A few hundred troops stayed behind to finish administrative and logistical duties but they were scheduled to fly out of Baghdad Wednesday night.
President Barack Obama set a deadline for August 31st to end the United States' combat role in Iraq.
Roughly 50,000 troops will remain in Iraq until the end of next year.
