BEIJING CHINA (WKOW) -- North Korean leader, Kim Jong II might be reaching out for foreign support. Authorities in China confirm that he visited the country. Until Monday morning the visit was kept quiet.
The North's state media has also referenced the trip that fueled speculation Kim was seeking aid and drumming up support for a succession plan.
China Central Television reported on its main evening broadcast Monday that Kim met President Hu Jintao on Friday in the northeast city of Changchun. The official confirmation of Kim's trip also likely means he has left China. Beijing has in the past not acknowledged Kim's visits until he has returned home.
