UPDATE (WKOW) --- Kromrey Middle School will stay closed longer than expected and reopen Friday, September 10.
The school will have to pass air quality testing before that date to assure it opens on schedule.
MIDDLETON (WKOW) -- Students are Kromrey Middle School in Middleton will have another week of summer vacation. The district announced Wednesday night the school is closed the rest of the week because of mold.
The mold in the school was identified as Aspergillus/Penicillium. It isn't toxic to most people, but it can cause problems for people with respiratory conditions or allergies.
The Middleton-Cross Plains district says the building will be cleaned top to bottom over the next six days.
Administrators expect to reopen Tuesday, September 7.
