Madison police investigate break-in

MADISON (WKOW) -- Police are trying to find two men who reportedly broke into a resident's garage.

It happened around 12:14 the morning of September 1. A 39-year-old resident called police after hearing a loud crashing noise coming from his garage on the 8400 block of Prairie Hill Road.

The resident said he went out to his garage to investigate and found an intruder about to climb through a window that had been left open. Another stranger was already inside the garage. One of the suspects reportedly told the homeowner, "Greg said we could drink here."

When the homeowner told the suspects the police were on the way, they drove away in a car that had been left running with its lights on in the street. Nothing appeared to have been stolen from the garage.

The suspects are described as white males between the ages of 20 and 25. One stood between five feet, five inches and five feet, seven inches, weighing 150 to 160 pounds. The other had blonde hair. The vehicle may have been a silver or white Chevrolet Malibu.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 266-6014.
