HAMILTON, Bermuda (WKOW) -- Bermuda's public safety minister is warning people about the damage Hurricane Igor could cause.
David Burch says it could be a "long and punishing" storm. Although Igor is down to a Category 1 storm, it is expected to pass directly over Bermuda.
Bermuda beaches are already getting the first impact of the hurricane.
Islanders are hurrying to board up windows, fill sandbags and stock up on supplies.
Most tourists left yesterday, and there are no more flights out. The few tourists who remain have to ride out the storm.
