WASHINGTON (WKOW) -- The number of unmarried couples living together rose sharply in 2010.
The number of opposite-sex unmarried couples who shared living arrangements jumped 13 percent this year to 7.5 million, according to The Census Bureau.
Demographers say a sluggish job market is a likely factor. Census data showed new unmarried couples were more likely to have one partner unemployed.
