"As an elected official, she paved the way for other women in this region and around the state, including myself, who dreamed of careers in public service and public office," said Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin.More >>
MADISON (WKOW) -- Mayor Dave Cieslewicz released the following statement Monday regarding County Executive Kathleen Falk.
"My friend County Executive Kathleen Falk called me this morning with the news that she will step down in April. I was surprised, but I also told her that I respect her decision, and I look forward to accomplishing everything we possibly can together in our remaining months of working together as county executive and mayor."
"There is no question that Kathleen and I have had the best working relationship of any mayor and county executive in the history of the County Executive's Office. This is always a challenging relationship, and we've had the occasional disagreement, but through it all we've worked well together and accomplished a great deal."
"Kathleen should be especially proud of the merger of the City and County Health Departments, an incredibly complicated and controversial project that has been successful. And together, we made the largest conservation land purchase in the city's history at Cherokee Marsh. We've had many more accomplishments in our time working together, but most importantly, I always knew I had someone down the hall who I could call at a moment's notice, and we'd work together on whatever issue was before us."
"I wish my friend of 25 years all the best in whatever is next for her."
