Obama asks wealthy donors to close the "enthusiasm gap"

CRESSKILL, N.J. (WKOW) -- President Barack Obama asks wealthy donors in New Jersey to help close the "enthusiasm gap" with Republicans four weeks before major midterm elections.

Obama said Democrats are at a disadvantage because of the high unemployment rate that he said would inevitable be blamed on the party in power.

The President advised supporters to focus on the "long game," rather than starting to "sulk" about the Democrats' problems.

Obama was attending a small Democratic National Committee fundraiser in New Jersey.  The event was expected to raise $1 million after each guest paid $30,400.
