Wisconsin DNR offices close Monday for furlough day
MADISON, Wis. (WKOW) -- All Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources offices will close for a furlough day on Monday.
The state government-wide furlough day is the fifth of eight days that cut across all agencies simultaneously. Gov. Jim Doyle has commanded agencies to choose eight extra furlough days on their own in addition.
The furloughs are intended to lessen the state's budget problems.
DNR wardens will stay on duty. State parks, forests, and trails will be open as well. If looking to buy a state hunting or fishing license on Monday, visit one of 1,400 retailers who offer them, go to the DNR's web site, or call 1-877-945-4236.
