Tom Barrett's wife appeals to women voters in Madison
MADISON (WKOW) -- As the Wisconsin gubernatorial race continues, one campaign is now using a secret weapon: the candidate's wife.
Kris Barrett, wife of Democratic candidate Tom Barrett, stopped by Fair Trade Coffee House on State Street Saturday to kick off her "Women For Barrett" tour.
Mrs. Barrett is an elementary school teacher in Milwaukee and says her husband is the clear choice for women voters.
"If you look at Tom's career [it's been] women, women, women. I mean, I think women have flocked to his campaign because they know his respect is genuine and he puts his money where his mouth is," said Mrs. Barrett.
Barrett says her husband will fight for women's issues like equal pay, improving education and a woman's right to choose.
