Wisconsin man sets record with 1,810 pound pumpkin
STILLWATER, Minn. (WKOW)-- According to the St. Paul Pioneer Press, a Wisconsin man set a new world record for the gigantic pumpkin he has grown—1,810.5 pounds to be exact.
Chris Stevens, a New Richmond, Wis. Resident, entered his pumpkin at the Stillwater Harvest Fest on Saturday. The 32-year-old contractor pumped his fist as the crowd cheered when the competition officials announced the official weight of his pumpkin.
The official world-record pumpkin weighs in at 1,725 pounds and was grown in Ohio last year. Stevens' pumpkin outweighs that by 85 pounds.
Stevens says his secret to growing such a large pumpkin is a special combination of sunshine, rain, cow manure, fish emulsion and seaweed.
