MADISON (WKOW) -- The state Legislature's budget-writing committee will consider how much money to allow Governor-elect Scott Walker to spend on his transition into office.
The panel is currently controlled by Democrats, who have majorities in both the state Senate and Assembly, but that will change in January when Republicans take over the Legislature.
The committee is required to meet within seven days after a new governor is elected.
Transition expenses for the governor-elect include costs of reviewing and analyzing the state budget, hiring staff and getting temporary office space.
Walker is currently in the process of naming cabinet secretaries, deputy secretaries and executive assistants for state agencies, as well as considering appointments to state boards and commissions.
