SUN PRAIRIE (WKOW) -- Eight American Red Cross Badger Chapter personnel are responding to assist residents evacuated from the Coral Drive neighborhood in Sun Prairie. Residents were evacuated following a house explosion earlier this morning.

A spokesperson for the Red Cross Badger Chapter says a reception center has been set up at West Side Elementary School, 1320 Buena Vista Drive, in Sun Prairie. The Emergency Response vehicle has been dispatched to provide residents and first responders with breakfast, snacks, coffee and water.

At the reception center, Red Cross workers are collecting information from residents about their immediate needs and assisting residents in making plans. A licensed crisis counselor is on scene to speak with residents. Residents can obtain refreshments such as snacks, coffee and water. A Health Services nurse is available to assist with obtaining medications if necessary. The Red Cross will work to disseminate information to residents as it becomes available. Residents may come and go from the reception center as needed. The reception center will remain open until residents are allowed to return to their homes.
