MADISON (WKOW) -- Two men have been sentenced to jail for voting illegally during the 2008 presidential election.
Milwaukee judge Glenn Yamahiro sentenced David Lewis to 20 days in jail and ordered him to pay a $250 dollar fine. Ramon Martinez is ordered to serve a 30 day sentence with a $750 dollar fine.
Lewis and Martinez pleaded guilty last month to one count of voting by a disqualified person. Both Lewis and Martinez were on probation for prior felony convictions in Milwaukee when they voted in the 2008 election.
Lewis was on probation from a 2004 conviction on felony child support charges. Martinez had been convicted of felony theft in September 2008.
Felons who have not finished their sentence can't vote in Wisconsin.
