MADISON (WKOW) -- On the eve of Veterans Day, some R.O.T.C students at UW-Madison are showing their appreciation for the soldiers who came before them.
Members of the National Scabbard & Blade Honor Society got together Wednesday night to make signs thanking veterans for their service.
The group is made up of students in the Army, Air Force and Navy R.O.T.C programs.
On Thursday, they'll post the signs across campus. The cadets say it's important to show veterans our gratitude.
Alice Bechtol says, "They protected our freedom for us and so it's our turn to give back and protect for them. We're all part of the same organization, the military, to defend this country and we all stand for the same beliefs."
The students also plan to visit the V.A Hospital in Madison to thank veterans in person.
