Retiree files complaint against Wisconsin Veterans agency
MADISON (WKOW) -- Gary Wistrom, a former state Department of Veterans Affairs administrator, has filed a complaint against the agency after he claims he was forced to retire.
Wistrom says he was commanded to relocate from his job in Union Grove to an undefined position in Madison following an affidavit he gave supporting another administrator who claimed Secretary Ken Black fired him because he wanted to get rid of "old white guys" in the department.
Wistrom is a retired U.S. Air Force colonel and he says that he had to retire because commuting over 200 miles to Madison was too dangerous because of the disabilities he suffers from as a result of his military service.
DVA spokeswoman Sara Stinski says the agency is conscious of the complaint but declined to comment further.
