MADISON (WKOW) -- As thousands take to the woods this weekend, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources says women hunters are a growing trend.
According to the Wisconsin DNR, in 2009, around $54,230 women participated in either the archery or firearm deer season and the DNR says the number of female hunters has continued to increase throughout the past decade.
Currently, around one in every 11 deer hunters are female.
