MADISON (WKOW) -- The Badgers clinched a share of the Big Ten title Saturday with a 70-23 beat down of Northwestern.
The win puts the Badgers one step closer to a trip to Pasadena for the Rose Bowl.
"It's amazing. We haven't been to the Rose Bowl since Barry Alvarez. It's going to be so exciting," said Badgers fan Matt McMichael.
The Badgers won't officially know if they're going to the Rose Bowl until the final BCS standings are released December 5. Wisconsin needs to be ranked higher than Ohio State and Michigan State to get the nod.
If the Badgers do go to the Rose Bowl, it will be their first appearance since 2000, when the team beat Stanford and became the first and only Big Ten team to win the Bowl Game back to back times.
Fans say they had no idea this year's team would be this special.
"I thought they would be a lot worse, but they were such a strong team," said Badgers fan John Basco. "It's been a great season, a great season."
