NEW YORK (WKOW) -- MasterCard's corporate website was knocked offline Wednesday due to an apparent cyberattack.
Supporters of WikiLeaks claim they launched the assault after MasterCard severed ties with WikiLeaks.
MasterCard says financial security and credit card transactions were not affected.
Late Wednesday, Visa's website experienced similar problems after the same WikiLeaks supporters tweeted plans to target that company as well.
