UPDATE: Highway 14 in Rock County reopened


ROCK COUNTY (WKOW) -- Highway 14 in Rock County has been reopened.

It was closed around noon on Sunday due to blowing and drifting snow.

The sheriff's department says, since then, road conditions have improved. However, motorists are encouraged to use caution when driving on Highway 14 or any roadway within Rock County.


ROCK COUNTY (WKOW) --  The Rock County Sheriff's Department has closed U.S. Highway 14 is closed from STH 140 to the Rock/Walworth County line until further notice.

They say this is due to multiple vehicle runoffs, accidents and bad road conditions due to the weather.

The Rock Sheriff's Office is suggesting people stay at home and not travel unless absolutely necessarily.

USH 14 is now open from Janesville to STH 140. 

Drivers may use USH 14 East of Janesville to STH 140; turn South to I-43and back onto USH 14.

There is a consider amount of drifting on many East/West roads in the County, and they are becoming impassable.
