MADISON (WKOW) -- The Senate passed a bill repealing the military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy Saturday.
The President is expected to sign the bill into law next week.
Here in Madison, advocates say repealing the policy is a huge victory for the entire gay community.
Patrick Farabaugh is the editor of Our Lives magazine in Madison, a magazine celebrating the LBGT community.
Farabaugh says, "In the LGBT community, it's something having an effect on their lives. It's also larger than just the gay service members."
Farabaugh says he hopes this is the beginning of more change in the community and in Washington.
