WASHINGTON (WKOW) -- An FBI spokeswoman says a package that ignited at a D.C. postal facility is similar to two packages that ignited Thursday at two state buildings in Maryland.
The packages in Maryland ignited and released smoke when opened. They also contained a message complaining about electronic highway road signs that asked drivers to report suspicious activity.
The postal facility in D.C. was evacuated after the package ignited. No injuries have been reported.
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Police are saying a package has ignited at a D.C. postal facility, a day after two fiery packages were opened in Maryland.
D.C. Officer Hugh Carew does not know if the package is similar to the two that ignited at Maryland state government buildings Thursday.
Carew says the package ignited about 2:45 p.m. Friday.
The building has been evacuated and no injuries have been reported.
