UPDATE: Plane lands safely at Madison's airport with one engine out
MADISON (WKOW) -- The Delta regional aircraft has landed safely at the Dane County Regional Airport.
A Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman says the flight was en route from Minneapolis to Dayton, Ohio when one of the plane's engines went out.
Once the plane landed safely and taxied, all 40 passengers on board were able to get out normally. No one was hurt.
The spokeswoman says such regional jets are designed to fly on one engine, but FAA regulations require the pilot to report immediately whenever one of the engines goes out. She says the FAA will investigate what went wrong.
MADISON (WKOW) -- Dane County officials have confirmed they have a fire call to Dane County Regional Airport.
It came in at about 3:15 p.m. that a twin-engine plane inbound to DCRA had one engine out. Plane is still inbound.
