Racine teen sentenced to 30 days in jail for firing at truck
RACINE (WKOW) -- A Racine County teenager has been sentenced to 30 days in jail for firing a rifle at a pickup truck full of people who had just smashed his family's mailbox. Eighteen-year-old Vincent Albano of Raymond was sentenced Friday. He was originally charged with five felonies but as part of a plea agreement he pleaded guilty to three misdemeanors. Albano told police he was hunting raccoons in his yard when the people smashed his mailbox. He fired at the truck, and a bullet went through one headrest. Prosecutor Randall Schneider says Albano is lucky no one was hurt. Schneider says the mother of two people in the truck called Albano a "stupid teenager." The Journal Times of Racine says Albano apologized and said he hopes he can learn from his mistake.
