MADISON (WKOW) -- Republican state Sen. Mary Lazich has issued a statement in regards to the budget repair bill Gov. Scott Walker released Friday.
"The measures proposed in the Budget Adjustment Bill are significant, and the challenges facing our state are significant. Wisconsin is in a state of economic peril. Decisive action must be taken," said Lazich.
"I do not like having to ask more of Wisconsin workers. Faced with a decision between the significant changes proposed or laying off thousands of workers during the next two years, I will fight to keep people employed.
"We are at a critical moment in the history of this state. We must act to get our financial house in order before insurmountable debt cripples this state's future. A dose of bitter medicine now will prevent a terminal disease from ravaging our future."
