MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison police say Saturday's competing rallies went without incident.
No arrests were made where police says tens of thousands of protesters gathered.
120 Madison police officers and dozens from other agencies patrolled the Capitol grounds Saturday. They had extra security on hand just in case things got out of hand.. but officers we spoke to say the day was relatively peaceful.
"Large, large number of people at the capital, ringing the capital. Certainly would have to be the largest gathering we've had this week," said Joel DeSpain, Madison Police Information Officer.
The tea party rally was held on the south side of the square, while pro union supporters marched in the street around the capitol.
