MONTPELIER, Vt. (WKOW) -- While Wisconsin public workers have been rallying hard at the capitol since last week, labor unions in Vermont are now protesting.
Representatives of the Vermont Education Association and of nurses at Fletcher Allen Health Care are rallying at the Montpelier Statehouse.
Also, state Democratic Rep. Susan Hatch Davis has come up with a plan that condemns Gov. Scott Walker's bill that would force public workers to pay more for benefits and take away collective bargaining rights from most of them, except those with a salary raise lower than the Consumer Price Index.
Last week, Democrats in Wisconsin's state Senate walked out in an effort to delay a vote.
