Blog that prank-called Gov. Walker experiences server problems

MADISON (WKOW) -- The blog that prank-called Gov. Scott Walker posing as conservative billionaire David Koch has been having server problems.

The address for The Buffalo Beast, as of 1:30 a.m. Thursday, returned a 404 error, an error that indicates an address cannot be located.

A call to the phone number listed with the domain registry was answered by an individual who would not give his name, but seemed familiar with the problem. A WhoIs search reveals the site is registered to a Paul Fallon of Buffalo, N.Y., but it could not be confirmed that it was Mr. Fallon who picked up the phone. It was late at night when the call was placed, and he asked to be called back "in the morning."

However, the person on the phone said they had problems earlier Wednesday with overly heavy traffic to the site, and that it had crashed once earlier, but thought the server had been restored by Wednesday evening. Checking the site again at 1:45 a.m. found the server had been restored.
