MADISON (WKOW) -- Don't expect a quick ruling in the lawsuit challenging Wisconsin's collective bargaining law.
Judge Maryann Sumi held a hearing Tuesday morning. Judge Sumi received the case Monday when Judge Amy Smith recused herself due to conflict of interest.
The suit was brought by Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk. She's asking that the publication of the law by blocked and the legality of the state Senate's vote be challenged.
Secretary of State Doug La Follette says he plans to publish the law on March 25. Judge Sumi told attorneys she'll hold a hearing on Friday. She may decide whether to block publication that day if she's comfortable, but said she won't rule on the rest of the case that day.
She says she'll be out all next week and warned that no one should expect a quick resolution.
