GREEN BAY (WKOW) -- Secretary of State Doug La Follette announced Monday he will delay publishing the budget repair law until Friday, March 25, the last possible day the law allows him to do so.
Governor Scott Walker responded to the decision Tuesday in Green Bay.
"I think it's unfortunate," Governor Walker commented. "Just historically, the Secretary of State, when asked by any governor, Republican or Democrat, has typically turned things around in one working day. By law he's got ten working days. He's going to take that full amount of time, but that's not been the common practice in the past."
If La Follette's publication survives a judge's ruling on Friday, the law would take effect March 26.
