Wis. not named among most dangerous spring flood areas
WASHINGTON (WKOW) -- Government forecasters say the Upper Midwest and Northeast face the worst spring flood danger, but did not name Wisconsin among the highest-risk areas.
The highest flood risks are concentrated in parts of the Dakotas, Minnesota and Montana. Flooding is also likely in the region around New York City, including southern New England and the Catskill mountains.
National Weather Service forecasters said at least seven metropolitan areas face a greater than 95 percent chance of major flooding. The areas include Fargo and Grand Forks, N.D.; St. Paul, Minn.; Davenport, Iowa; Rock Island, Ill. and Sioux Falls and Huron, S.D.
