MADISON (WKOW) -- The Wisconsin Democratic Party is accusing Gov. Scott Walker of illegally meeting with a prominent GOP pollster.
The complaint alleges Walker's meeting with pollster Frank Lutz was illegal because Walker derived political gain from it. It says Walker violated state law that prohibits the solicitation of political donations in state buildings and from using his elected position to seek something of value.
Walker's spokesman Cullen Werwie confirmed the Capitol meeting was held February 23, the day after Walker took a call from a blogger posing as billionaire Republican donor David Koch.
Werwie calls the complaint frivolous and says the meeting was legal because it was to discuss the state's economy and not polling or anything else barred by the law.
