MADISON (WKOW)--The Wisconsin State Fair is coming to town and it promises to be a fun filled event. The fair just announced two new exciting shows for the 160th celebration of the 2011 Wisconsin State Fair.
The Potawatomi Bingo Casino Main Stage lineup will offer Fairgoers even more diversity this year, including classic rock, contemporary country, comedy, old-school hip-hop and more. The 2011 Fair will take place Thursday, August 4 through Sunday, August 14 at Wisconsin State Fair Park in West Allis.
A country artist whose career is on fire, Blake Shelton, will bring his six-pack style to the Fair on Wednesday, August 10. With nods to the party mode in "That Thing We Do" and "Got A Little Country," and chart-toppers "All About Tonight," "She Wouldn't Be Gone," "Austin,"
"The Baby," "Some Beach" and "Hillbilly Bone," his duet with Trace Atkins, Shelton fans are certain to celebrate in the stands as he bangs out hits from the stage. Jerrod Niemann will open the show at 7:30pm. Tickets will be available for $45, $35, and $25.
It wouldn't be the Fair without a wild night of hair bands, and this year is no different.
At 7:00pm on Thursday, August 11, legions of 80s hair band fans can prepare to rock with Whitesnake. "Here I Go Again," "Still of the Night," "Is This Love?" and "Children of the Night" are just a few of the group's recognizable hits. Whitesnake is slated to release their latest album, Forevermore, on March 25 in the U.S. Skid Row and L.A. Guns will complete the bill. Tickets will be available for $40, $30 and $20.
An opening act for the previously announced Big Time Rush show has also been confirmed. Greyson Chance, the 13-year-old whose fame spawned from a YouTube video of him performing Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi," landing him a recording deal with Ellen DeGeneres' label eleveneleven Records, will open the show for Big Time Rush on Saturday, August 6 at 7pm. Tickets for the concert are already on sale and are available for $40, $30, and $20.
Don't forget…NEW in 2011, all ticket prices above INCLUDE FAIR ADMISSION, and all of the above shows go on sale this Friday, March 25 at 10am. At this time tickets can only be purchased online at WiStateFair.com. Tickets can be printed at home or mailed.
