MADISON (WKOW) -- The Madison city council approved contract extensions for its union workers Tuesday night.
The contracts will be extended another 15 months into March of 2014.
Both the city and the unions wanted to take quick action because of uncertainty surrounding the budget repair bill.
Union workers agreed to wage concessions in exchange for the extension.
The city says the concessions will save it $5.3 million in the 2012 city budget.
