TOKYO (WKOW) -- The amount of radiation present in water at the site of a failing nuclear reactor is much less than was reported last night, says a spokesperson for the Tokyo Electric Power Co.
Radiation levels in pooled water at the troubled nuclear reactor were reported to be ten million times the normal amount
It turns out that is not an accurate number.
Officials say there was a mistake in their measurement. There is still radiation in pooled water at the facility, it's just not nearly as much as first reported.
Japan's nuclear safety agency says the plant will attempt to remove pooled water from the plant today.
