Officials monitoring flood levels

(WKOW) -- Spring can mean flooding for many areas in Wisconsin. Officials are monitoring water levels but there have been no reports of severe flooding.

Captain Wallace of Jefferson County said water levels are higher than normal but flooding is not threatening any residential areas in Jefferson County, with the exception of some homes on Black Hawk Island. Some people with homes on Black Hawk Island have begun sandbagging but people have not evacuated to his knowledge.

Captain Wallace said Bark River Road near Fort Atkinson is the only road that has been closed due to flooding.

Jillian Peterson is the Supervisor of the Rock County Communications Center. Peterson said Rock County has not had any reports of flooding.  Peterson said Rock County is under a "slow no wake" because Rock River levels are high.

Emergency Management Director for Iowa County Keith Hurlbert said Iowa County has no reported flooding. Hurlbert anticipates if there are any flooding problems in the future, it will only affect very low ground levels and not impact any residential areas.

Grant County Dispatch said they are not aware of any flooding in Grant County.
