MADISON (WKOW) -- City engineering officials plan to begin a two-contract, four-phase reconstruction project on University Avenue Wednesday, April 13.
The project will affect University Ave. between Grand Ave. and Breese Terrace. Workers will replace underground utilities, as well as all lanes of University Ave. and several other nearby streets.
The city will work with contractor Capitol Underground. The project is expected to last through early September.
The city says access to all businesses will be maintained and intersections will remain open when possible.
Updates can be found on the City of Madison Downtown Construction Project website. The public can also sign up for email updates.
Madison Metro will detour its buses along the westbound lanes. Detour information will be available on the Metro website.
