Madison (WKOW) - "I just want it running right," said Larry Ross. "Running smooth like I had it."
Larry Ross says he knows cars, and his car just isn't what it used to be. You have to listen close, but Larry says it's there: A rattle in his motor that won't go away.
The problem started when he got a simple tune-up at Mex Muffler. The mechanic broke a tip of a spark plug that fell inside the engine.
"It came out sounded like a tractor when he finished putting the plug in," said Ross.
We visited the mechanic, and he admits to his mistake.
"One little piece fell inside the engine," said Mechanic Victor Mejia.
But Victor seems to have taken responsibility. It took him a month, but he replaced Larry's engine for free. But Larry keeps coming back with complaints. He's even gotten a second opinion that suggested he may need a new part. The mechanic says he's fixed that. In fact, he's worked on the car now three times!
"You know each time it cost me 300, 400 dollars," said Mejia.
"He is trying?," asked Reporter Sabrina Hall.
"He is trying but still it's not satisfying me," said Larry.
Larry says he'll know satisfaction when he hears it.
The mechanic says he is willing to pay for a third opinion on the car. He says if its found that there is a problem with the engine, he will fix it for the fourth time for free. But he says, if the problem is outside the engine. it's not his responsibility.
