Earth Day 2011

MADISON (WKOW) -- It's time to show some love for Mother Earth. Earth day is Friday, April 22. You can join others for a day of fun and education about the world we live in at the Forest Products Laboratory.

Kids and adults alike will have a chance to meet actual scientists and learn about their research. In addition, you can tour the Centennial Research Facility, and the Research Demonstration House. Kids who attend, will get to see a "magic show," have fun with bugs, papermaking, and other great games. There will be give-aways and prizes, as well as free wood I.D., historical displays, and you can meet Smokey Bear and Woodsy Owl. If you prefer to watch something as opposed to participating, you can enjoy a nature documentary.

If you're interested, the event is planned for April 22, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The USDA Forest Products Laboratory is located at 1 Gifford Pinchot Drive, Madison, 53726.
