Wis. volunteers depart for disaster relief in Ala.
MADISON (WKOW) -- Deadly tornadoes in the south have killed hundreds of people. Communities all across that part of the country are now trying to pick up the pieces and some volunteers from Madison are there to help.
Denise Davenport is an American Red Cross volunteer with the Badger Chapter. She and her team left Friday and will be in Alabama for at least three weeks.
Davenport has been a volunteer for five years and says they need more volunteers so they can do more to help.
"We really need a lot of volunteers. If you can spend some time at least, donating time, if you can't donate time, just donate money," said Davenport. "It helps, everything helps."
Davenport says her primary job will be to distribute supplies.
