UPDATE (WKOW) -- Columbia County authorities say the driver of a vehicle that rear-ended a school bus died of his injuries.
The accident happened just after 6:30 a.m. on May 6. Nineteen-year-old Cory A. Adams, of Poynette, died on May 7.
The Wisconsin State Patrol and the Columbia County Sheriff's Office continue to investigate.
PORTAGE (WKOW) -- A driver suffered serious injuries Friday morning when he crashed into a school bus.
The accident took place around 6:30 a.m. on USH 51-60 at Goose Pond Road just south of the Village of Arlington.
Columbia County confirms a school bus for the Poynette School District was traveling north on USH 51-60 and was slowing to turn onto Goose Pond Road. A passenger car was also traveling north on USH 51-60 and failed to slow down and crashed into the rear of the school bus.
The driver of the school bus and two students did not sustain any injuries in the crash. The driver of the passenger car sustained serious injuries. He was transported to UW Hospitals Madison via Med Flight.
The crash remains under investigation by the Columbia County Sheriff's Office and the WI State Patrol. The Sheriff's Office was assisted by Arlington Fire and EMS, Poynette EMS, Columbia County Highway Department, and Blystones Towing of Portage.
