DOJ asks judge to remove challenge to collective bargaining law
MADISON (WKOW) -- The state Department of Justice wants a lawsuit challenging Governor Scott Walker's controversial collective bargaining law dismissed. State attorneys filed a motion Friday saying lawmakers are immune to civil actions.
They also say Judge Maryann Sumi who has blocked the law while she considers the case cannot interfere with the legislative process.
Earlier this week, the state supreme court said it will consider hearing the case next month.
