MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison fire officials found some heightened security measures at the state Capitol violated fire safety code.
Madison Fire Department spokeswoman Lori Wirth says they had a citizen complaint they responded with a code enforcement officer inspecting the Capitol.
Fire department inspectors say multiple locked exit doors could cause confusion and panic for those trying to leave in an emergency.
Department of Administration Secretary Mike Huebsch has said there are no plans to reduce Capitol security measures until issues surrounding a collective bargaining bill are resolved.
